RE: Wotcha
Welcome!

WTF are you doing jellying an eel when it's so delicious raw? Eel sushi... mmm.

And as a Texan (we identify as Texan first and 'Murican second here), I'll say that you don't know scary until you've been to Texas. We'll shoot your ass right off. But we have GREAT barbecue.

When a people eat jellied eels, they should not be throwing stones at other people's countries. Thais can say whatever they like about us, because their food is the food pinnacle. Brits... well... they jelly eels and boil beef. There's a reason why curry has taken over.

'Murica. So important we split Asia in two so we can be in the goddamn center.

Actually, Europe and Africa are the important places, judging by the standard map view:

That's one reason why we're scared! Its like being a mafia enforcer, riddled with Rheumatoid arthritis, living in a town full of people he's beaten up at some point in the last 20 years. Waiting for the metaphorical tap on the shoulder when we look around at someone who wants to talk to us about that time we "liberated" them.

Give it 500 years America, and you'll know the feeling!

Quote:Wait until you find out how much your free birth control pills are gonna cost you, when your rates triple and your deductibles go through the roof. What the regime is doing here, basically -- what these ads are really promising -- is, 'If you like your risky, promiscuous lifestyle, you can keep it.' That's what Obama's promising. If you like being promiscuous, you can keep on being promiscuous. If you like being a prostitute, then have at it. You like your risky, promiscuous lifestyle, you can keep it. That's what Obama is promising"

See this right here is what I'm talking about. This is our buddy Rush.

How can someone who thinks that affordable healthcare is there to encourage prostitutes be popular enough to have his own show!?

Course over here we have nationalized healthcare and we're all at it like knives! In fact, I let a sailor bang me up the bum for £50 only this evening. I was thinking "no, I'm straight, and married, and not a rent boy" but then I remembered that condoms were free on the NHS and I was like "get over here meatpacker, and bang me up the arse till jizz flys out of my mouth".

See, THAT'S what healthcare does!

Because he tells brain-dead, greedy, religious idiots in red states exactly what they want to hear.

I love this new guy! Foe reals.

Thomas, can you go a little more in depth than that? I'm curious as well. Personally the only Rush Limbaugh listener I know has listened to him for 20 yrs. I used to have to listen to it in the car growing up, lets just say that Wink now I listen to it in the car once in awhile cuz I'm realllllly tired of wondering what the fuck my dad is thinking. He's off the wall! But he's not greedy. Nor is he brain dead by any means. He's a computer programmer! Well, retired computer programmer.
Personally I believe my dad (and Rush Limbaugh) are mentally ill. But would that mean that all 5 Million of his daily viewers are also mentally ill? Thinking
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

America is very conservative and very polarized politically these days. I am old enough to remember when TV ads could not show women in lingerie and words like "sucks" would be bleeped out of radio and TV broadcasts. The political polarization seems to be mirroring the relaxation of media standards, and that makes a bit of sense; one way to rally people to a cause is to frighten them into thinking that the barbarians are massing at the gates.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
