We don't object to gods authority, he is a fictional character. He doesn't HAVE any authority.

We don't complain about him not ruling with an iron fist because, again, he is not real.

What we object to is theists coming here telling us what a wonderful loving god he is when even your own damn book depicts him as anything but.

And when you tell us that we're not interpreting your fairytale correctly when we point out the vile deeds that the bible is filled with.

Well sorry, but if a plain reading is not sufficient to understand gods message then either god is a massively incompetent buffoon or(more likely)you are desperately trying to justify this horror story to yourself in order to make it into fluffy bunny time.

Zen man that is such a cop out post. Of course you don't believe. You just cannot decide which god you don't believe in: the lenient one that gives you freedom enough to destroy yourself or the tyranny that imposes strict order.

Well in reality we simply don't believe in God - whether he wears armour or bells.

The distinction between lenient God or a tyrannical God is the difference between the God we read about in the bible and the one Christians tell us we have not understood.

Obviously the former is fictitious - "freedom enough to destroy yourself" pretty much says it all.

Its not that we can't decide which God we don't believe in - its the God we are being presented with is not consistent.

Atheists never complain about the actions of a Being they think is powerless. Why would they? Atheists don’t care what we say about hell or sin or eternity.
We could preach about the lake of fire all day and they wouldnt even care because they are too busy with other real world stuff like not collecting stamps and visiting internet discussion boards
about the hair color called baldness..

Atheists only object when their special interpretation of the bible differs from yours and/or when it’s the same as yours and/or when they say the bible is all man-made lies about imaginary vile deeds that never happened to anybody and were never done by a Being who cant possibly exist because we have mapped the entire space/time multi-verse and conclusively shown that no such Being exists.

More than that, there's nothing in the bible that makes it this wondrous piece of art that requires deep thought and interpretation, either: it's a bunch of demonstrably false just-so stories that christians are desperate to inject some greater meaning into.

Are you kidding, the book is specifically vague as fuck to make it easy to twist and hard to refute(well they try)
