Kennedy 50th Anniversary Coverage
It's all over the news today and watching - I was 14 when it happened - I am struck by two things.

One: 50 years ago the US Congress had people in it with some gravitas.

Two: 50 years ago the news media had people in it with equal gravitas.

Today, Congress and the media seem to be little more than clowns by comparison.

No wonder you're an archeologist. You probably remember where everything is buried from your youth.

News has become entertainment. To a large extent, so has politics.

I watch a lot of football, and there are really not many differences between watching sports and watching politics. Punditry, especially, is the same no matter the subject, and in both sports and politics, the pundits and the journalists seem to often wear the same underwear.

Well...like the Ark of the Fucking Covenant for one thing. I mean...I know I was using it as a kitty litter box at one point but I can't remember where the fuck I buried it now.
