My mother has worked with brain injured people for over twenty years. Brain injuries can have an effect on any part of a person. This sort of thing is common. These naive, obsessive qualities are the same that some of my mother's clients have as a result of brain injury, and in some cases a mental disorder or two on top of that. So here's the thing - leo could be a troll of some sort, but if he is telling the truth about serving the army and getting brain injured - that would make just as much sense.

Okay, I'll give you that. But my point is that if it effects empathy enough not to understand that someone would be insulted by "Well...I want a girlfriend but you're fat so we're going to have to change that," then that person is going to have a rough time.

He seems more worried about what other people will think of him for having a heavy girlfriend than whether or not she's happy, healthy, and their personalities match. Wherever that stems from, that's only going to end in disaster.

Oh yes, I agree his methodology and mindset are not in his favor. He needs to become more independent minded - which is something that many brain injured people can do, albeit often through counseling and professionals. It's frustrating from our perspective because his concern of other people's opinions is clearly an issue, but he cannot see how much it is or how to go about helping himself. We will become a broken record to him as much as he is to us.
