I think it's only fair to point out that while you may not own a car - you live out of someone else's, which in my mind makes a bit of what you're saying above a bit hypocritical.

I don't care about him being supported, I do care about the lying. I knew there was something he wasn't telling us. I get help from my mom but see I am not lying about it.

The biggest difference between my worldview/life and that of my poorer friends is that I have never had to worry about breaking my leg or cancer or something like that ruining me or my family financially. It's not a financial worry at all. Otherwise, it's pretty small stuff, since I don't like fancy cars or jewelry and I make most of our clothes. The dividing line is about worry about unforeseen events, not about stuff.

I'm grateful for it. If there is something bad about it, it's that it sometimes causes some friend friction, because I tend to want to pick up the check because I can easily afford it, and that gets insulting to people eventually. Also, if people need to borrow money, it can cause some issues, since I will only lend money if I am fully OK if I never get it back. If I am willing to lend money, it has to be money I'd be willing to gift.

And I really think that you do have it better than on other places on earth. This whole stuff about uniting the worker class has already been said.
Being a "worker" is not really much of a uniting concept. Its also not much of a concept that decreases the apathy of the people, nor social-awareness.
So I think that you have it all wrong. You're instilling nothing into the people that would want both the workers and the employers to provide for a better country for all.
The fact is, your country is built on money, and the promise of wealth, dreams of wealth, and opportunity. How else can you actually put the 72 nations of the world under a single roof? Of course with the promise of money and opportunity.
So even I can come with my degree, which is actually a useful degree on engineering, with a few connections in the Turkish diaspora, and find myself a better job on a better salary and live a better life than the lowly American worker that has lived and worked there all his life long.
So you might want to check into the whole concept of who is an American and whom the people should actually care for. Me?
And why should I care for them? I came to the US for the opportunity to work. I pay taxes. And the less I pay, the more I'm happy, and I really ought not to be worried about the poor that I have no connections to.
In short, you need a uniting concept. Communism and socialism are not such concepts, as they too have their basis in materialism. But it must be something that is built on a uniting consciousness and identity, something very idealistic.

Yes we do, but that should not be an excuse to lower our standards to compete with abusive business models like India and China's sweat shop models.
The only thing that allows stability in the west is when the least amongst us are not sinking, without it we regress into the third world country mentality we find abusive ourselves.

Not all places have homeless shelters. The city I worked for didn't have one.

Haha, well in all fairness to myself then, I in fact don't live out of my girlfriend's car anymore. We broke up. But the car was actually a major issue as I didn't want one and like most people my girlfriend thought it was impossible to live without one. (Despite the fact most people in the world don't have one)

Well first off, I haven't lived with said girlfriend in quite a while. Second, she never supported me. Nobody supports me but me. I lived on the same amount of money before, during and after I was with her. Life isn't about this obsession with money. Some of you guys are more obsessed with money than any Republican I've ever met.

Still you are either lying or omitting. This is not a party issue, this is about you claiming X, and our objections to claim X.
I live in a very rural area, during the off season I need help from my mom getting my bills paid. $250 a month doesn't cut it anywhere in the states.
Do you live in the streets? Do you live in a tent? If you live in a house you sure damned well don't pay the rent or mortgage on $250 a month.
Again no one should give one shit who supports you but the only way you could be on such a budget is if you had disability from the state, a family member or friend or girlfriend our spouse.
You are lying your ass off saying you have roof over your head and paying for it by yourself.

Wow so now it is about immigration? More scapegoating, blame the poor and now immigrants. Nice.
No the problem is that we have the 1% sitting on money they could be putting directly back into our economy in better wages for everyone, immigrant or not.
