How about you seek psychological help, because ancient fairy tales should not act as a substitute for human empathy and a conscience (and in the case of way too many Christians, it clearly doesn't work at all).

We're talking Christianity here. And Jesus is "human empathy" personified!

How bout you seeking mental help for persecuting Jesus for everything He doesn't stand for?

Jesus isn't anything personified because he is not and has never been, not even by your lights, a person like you and me. You have to be really warped to miss that obvious factoid.

We're not persecuting Jesus. We're persecuting a loser of a douche bag Christian who keeps posting mentally deranged crap and "feelies."

When you think "worship me or suffer in hell forever" is the apotheosis of human empathy, then all you're doing is proving my point.

Not capitalising his dad's name is persecution now? Does that mean that the next time you show anything but the deepest respect towards atheists, we can scream persecution as well? Kewl!
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

There is a part in Matthew, I believe, where Jesus refuses to heal a woman until she begs him to, because she wasn't of the correct tribe. He likened her, and everyone not from the tribe of Israel, to dogs. I don't think this is the action of an avatar of human empathy.

Because disagreeing with you isn't persecuting you, and you can't persecute a fiction, anyway.

I don't feel any need for seeking mental help -- I'm not the one who thinks that worshiping a dead hippie on a stick will get me to Big Rock Candy Mountain after I'm dead.

And how, exactly, does one "persecute Jesus?"

I have yet to hear one-fourth of one valid reason why I ought to respect that.

What "lies" are you talking about? Faith? Hope? Love? Peace?

How about respecting the "people of God", whose own concept of your so called "lies" makes them help and love others?

Or, would you rather nitpick as many of the small-minded do, to justify your own ignorance?

The people of God whom God calls Gods in John 10:25-35? Lol. You see, God said "let there be light". I ask the Christians, did he utter the words. Christians say yes.

But, if he spoke these words and man is in his image, it means he's got a mouth? And if he's got a mouth, he must have teeth as well. TEETH Big Grin. Can you imagine a toothless God, a God without teeth:

God: ABBababluah balubahua blauha Cranky

Can you imagine a God like that? So then God talks to his creation, he keeps talking talking, talking talking, his mouth must run dry, so, he must need a lubricant Cold Shower. And once that lubricant goes in there must be an outlet as well.

I believe that shitty god deserves a small g.

I never capitalize god when referring to him, for the same reason as Stimbo in the hopes of rattling some people who think it should be capitalized, though usually I prefer to simply refer to it as a fictional deity.
