God is dead; rejoice! Larry was an asshole.
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day

That's probably true for most of you but my grandmother says she was divinely inseminated. So I'm probably quarter god.

I have a great uncle who insists Set did him up the arse but I'm not sure if that counts, or how to count that.

So this was the title of today’s preaching: God is god and we are not god.
He went on to say the god controls our lives and we do things at his will, bla bla bla …Let god guide us/you throw life… I kinda toned the rest of it out, but I got thinking.

What happen to Free Will? Can’t they (Christians) get their story straight?

"free will" as most understand it is a greek philosphy and not a biblical concept. Matter of fact we are told several times in the bible we are slaves who's master is sin. (Meaning we can not help but to sin.) That is why Christ died to provide attonement. In this life we are only free to make one real choice and that is to accept attonement or not. In essence to be freed from sin.

Or as the immortal Hitch had it, "created sick and ordered to be well". Nice scam you have there.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Are you sure about this? I'd heard it was the sacrifice of a virgin into a volcano long ago which appeased the gods and atoned for their displeasure in us. I wonder if "Fact check" could help here?

Gwyneth Paltrow is god. Angel

I used to say, "Gwyneth Paltrow is my god," but that's trivial. And another thing... I really like Shell B, but I am glad she's not around to jump down my throat about me going on about my Gwynnies. Big Grin

As to the OP, the correct answer is - we are god. There is no factual, independent evidence for any kind of god, and all reports of god or godlike beings is all anecdotal. And furthermore, as a prophet, I would include that such is "as god wills." I am one who remembers god, and... it really ain't like that. Wink

Created perfectly, elected to be sick, then provided a cure for those who want to be well.

Can't say I totally agree. I'm thinking about the parable of the Strong Man. Evil may have the run of the house but some good remains in you. This good let's you call on the Lord to drive the evil from your heart. If you follow him he remains to give you Victory. I see atonement and repentance as the beginning of regeneration during which we work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

Any barbecue will do.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.
