Would you try a psychedelic drug to curve depression?

Neuroscientists are encouraging further exploration of psychedelics in treating mental health diseases like Depression. Psilocybin is also known to cure cluster headaches which are usually so intense that sufferers often take their own lives...

Any thoughts?

It really depends on the side-effects. If they aren't too severe, sure, why the hell not.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Can't be any worse than the side effects from Prozac or Zoloft. I've tripped before and I had a very positive/happy experience.

Well, considering that my SSRI doesn't give me any negative effects, but helps to keep my mood stable, I'm all set. But for those, who haven't found suitable medication yet, this might be the winning ticket. Who knows?

I have never found a medication that works... I was on Zoloft (SSRI) but it made me so tired and nauseous. Plus I couldn't have orgasms... AND THAT AINT GONNA FLY.

Yeah, the inability to have orgasms on SSRIs is a frustrating part. Fortunately for me, it balanced itself out after three weeks or so. Scruffy (my fiancé) on the other hand does not respond well to SSRIs either, he gets all the 5-HT2 side effects, and I am convinced that mirtazapine would be the way to go. On it he would have to take one drug instead of three. His psychiatrist recently prescribed him quetiapine for the insomnia, but if it turns him into a zombie, I feel like I have to interfere. I'm not a big fan of physicians prescribing more medication to null the effects of another.. Dodgy
