Who gets to decide when someone is lying?

Just considering a potential hierarchy of abstractions, I would make a slight change and say that a lie is a kind of deception. Right or wrong I translated your statement to mean the opposite; deception is a kind of lie.

Now you know how I felt when I posted that response.

Anyway, now that there's activity in this thread, anyone care to weigh in on my actual question re: circular logic in the OP?

Well, when one claims absolutes like you do (or isn't your claim that your god is absolute?) then you don't have much to go on that. A lie its still a lie, even if you believe it.

GC, have you gone full presuppositionalist since I've been away?

No, it was a twist on things said previously.

It isn't that hard. It is only surprising to you that the world continues to spin on its axis exactly as before in spite of our disbelief. But then, you've had your head filled with wool for sometime.

I know the world spins as it has always, because God in His word said it would right up to the end of time. You should search scripture to understand what Christians know.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Big hint: hack writers in Hollywood are writing better storylines.

Where in the Bible does it say that God can't or won't lie?

I mean, if you have faith in what he says, doesn't that imply that you have faith that he won't mislead you?

If he can, or would, lie, then how can you justify having faith in anything he says? After all, there are no consequences for a god's lies.

I never let him get away with it. In fact, I was downright annoying in my insistence that he not get away with it. That's why the stupid christpussy has me blocked now.

Well, we know that's not true, because in a couple billion years the sun's gonna toast the earth right out of existence, and time will continue on just as before.
