I fully agree. And I will add that, much to my liking, science is not even trying to please theology in any way, while theology does make claims about the material world. For instance how it all originated, what the purpose for certain material objects known as humans in this world is, how they should behave and use other material objects, how laws of nature can be and have been bypassed by miracles, how the material world is bound by some unseen shadow world full of nice fairy tales and more of this stuff.

Science is trying to replace theology where it cannot begin, as you illustrate. To understand you need to use the correct tool.

How is it a tool if it cannot actually be demonstrated to be used as one?
Where is its basis?

A misquote, you sneaky little devil. In general science is not trying to replace any bullshit fantasies. In particular science is not trying to replace theology. Theology on the other hand is trying to freeload on the success of science by stinking up academic departments throughout the world.

Indeed. A virtual hammer of divine ectoplasm won't drive the nail in, does it?
