"I only say that because it would be more merciful for your child. My god accepts all innocent babies into heaven. Therefore my statement is actually kind and merciful because you wouldn't have a chance to raise that child as condemned soul."

You can't really use a Christian who happens to be an asshole (everyone is to some degree) as the template for what Christianity is all about. Use Jesus as the template.
