Fifty six? Why? At this rate, they might as well just let people enter in their own, kind of like we do here with custom user titles. In fact...that doesn't sound like too bad of an idea.

That's A LOT of options. Since I have no gender, I appreciate being able to put something accurate there. But a text box would have been alright too. This made a lot of people happy though and I do not see a problem. I DO see a problem with people bitching about there not being enough options, but thankfully I have not run into these people yet (I KNOOOOW they exist though). Good job, facebook, although honestly I would have been just as happy with just a couple extra options

I do think us non-binary folks needs some more umbrella terms, just because it's insane the amount of terminologies we have. To be fair though, a lot of those options they presented do fall under the term "genderqueer".
