Have we dispensed with this sub forum?
Mia culpa, just found it.
So just who do I speak to to gain access to this area?

I think you need a single opponent and a formal title.
I'll go if anyone wants a theist opponent.

Esquilax challenged SoC to a debate. I hope it happens, but I doubt it will...

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House
“Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom

Esquilax doubted it too, before he even posted the challenge.
It's one of those things where even a refused or ignored challenge says what I wanted to say, just as much as a challenge accepted and lost.

For me it is more a case of exploring vegetarianism vs omnivore-ism which I think is better served outside the debate area.
More flexibility that way, as I think the subject matter at hand will cross multiple boundaries and would be limited in the Official Debate Area
Besides,...... mods have enough to do than monitor a debate that is likely to wander all over the place.

I personally think that engaging in a formal debate with a Christian only gives them the impression that they represent an equal opposite viewpoint and that their beliefs are legitimate. It's why I wish Bill Nye hadn't made the mistake with Ken Ham.

Only the ones that are too far gone to ever change. For the ones who aren't Hamsters, losing a debate to someone with real facts on their side could be an eye opening experience. For those who refuse to learn, the landscape is a little different; I'd never debate a Ken Ham or a Ray Comfort, or anyone with that outlook and the notoriety to actually gain some cache or profit from such a debate, but smallfry like Sword?
Small fry are made for the pan, and maybe a few burns will make them think twice before blindly asserting shit to be true.
