I have no idea why they would even try to reconcile their Jesus with the Jewish god. I get that maybe they wanted jewish converts, and we know they like to include other beliefs in their to help convert, but why would they have Jesus serve/pe part of Yahweh? It makes no sense. Jesus has little or nothing to do with the jews. He doesn't meet any prophesy, or description of a Jewish messiah.

Why does an omnipotent and omnipresent deity need to send angels down one at a time in order to try to convince humans to turn to God, when God could quite easily show himself to every single person on the planet simultaneously and explain to them how he wants them to live and worship? And then he could send people to hell for disobeying/not believing in him, if he were still such a dick.
It's telling that Christian fiction like this is always so poorly written like God is totally powerless to change the world, and has to rely on angels and people to change anything.

That's what I'm thinking. An omnipresent being shouldn't need messengers. He's literally everywhere. I don't buy this line that having concrete proof would mess with free will. If I knew he existed, I still wouldn't consider worshiping him without some major explanations and apologies from him about things he supposedly did in the bible.

Then again, these days the heavy lifting would probably take the form of copy-pasting that story to other sites. It's no wonder that god became so upset.

Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

And it's no wonder that religion is receding and atheism is growing, since these poorly-written stories only serve to convince those who already believe. It would be like converting to fundamentalist Christianity because you read a Chick tract.

That's because Google has replaced God. Google is all knowing and ever present, and unlike God, Google can prove its existence, thus making it the truest god we've ever known. But Google isn't a loving god - it gives knowledge, no matter how harsh, and leaves us with the free will to deal with that knowledge however we wish. All hail the mighty Google!

Google is the closest thing to an all knowing and all present force we have. Not sure about all powerful yet. Still, mad respects.
