Therefore the Invisible Pink Unicorn(BBHH) is the most real God through a unification of science and faith!

Hopefully none of those FSM loving asshats post in this thread to talk their blasphemous nonsense of noodly appendages and flying spaghetti! Sheesh, what retards!

Woot! What do I win?

What nonsense. Everyone knows that the Church of the Flying spaghetti monster (BBHNA) has science on its side. We have the very scientific charts proving that the decrease of pirates lead to global warming. In the last two years we've had a cooling effect. Why? Pirates in Somalia. QED Bitchaz!!

The Flying spaghetti monster (BBHNA) is also the one holding us to the ground with his noodly appendages. In china they have more noodles, so more pressurre downward, so shorter people.

Anyone can see the Church of the FSM (BBHNA) is the only true religion.

NOODLY BULLSHIT! I can't believe that you can believe that belief in the FSM is any better than worshiping your own belly button lint! Believe it! (Suck it Naruto!) Everyone knows that the temperature of the universe is controlled by the IPU's(BBHH) magic horn! That and trancendental gnomes that control the waves by dancing at the bottom of the ocean.

The #27 post had nothing to do with the bible, so i'm not sure what question you were trying to ask.

Do you want to know what i feel about poverty assuming the bible is true or do you want to find me an atrocity in the bible and tell you who i think is responsible? And if it's the latter then which atrocity in the bible?

You need to try and make your questions more details and concise in the future because while you may recognise what you meant there is no guarantee anyone else will.

any will do

Or we can discuss historic or current attrocities commitet in the name of God, like the crusade, jihad, etc.

Or we could discuss if the Bible were true what do you feel about murder, poverty, hunger? Take your pick.

Quote:I appreciate your personal experiences and I should have specified what type of love. Perfection Is a continual state of improvement and not an emotion of itself so they're really not the same. I was definately unclear about "God's perfect Love" though. You're last statment definately has odds in your favor and I'd bet with you on that. That doens't mean you don't keep trying.

You don't need to specify what type of love. I got it from the gist of your post.

You would bet me on that? Sometimes the odds are in favor for girls and sometimes it is in the guys favor.

Oh me keep on trying to find love? One can only hope.

As simply as i can:

This all depend on whether or not God is real.

Assuming he is real:

The acts in the bible portray God a a very unstable individual. One minuet he is loving and caring, the next he is jealous, petty and murderous. He is also very inconsistent.

The Jihad and crusades would be his choosing not to intervene and save lives if it were the case they were not his orders. If he did order the crusades then he may or may not have had a good reason. you can't be sure, because as i said above, the bible shows him to be psychologically unstable.

The absolute lack of aid for the suffering children of the world is just disgusting and extremely immoral.

Assuming he's not real:

The bible is a collection of bullshit stories written by primitive men, explaining the emotional inconsistency of the god.

The Jihad and Crusades could have either been an extension of genuine faith gone horribly wrong, but i think they are most likely the large-scale manipulation of masses of people for evil causes by a politically motivated authority.

The children are a tragedy and it's out job to help the best we can.

Or, they are stories written by primitive men who were trying to justify their own monstrous behavior.

If that is the case, then prove it. Does your religion have impressive charts like these?

Or sightings of the IPU as we do of his Noodlyness (BBHNA) like these?

Well?

Repent, and join our ranks, we have priests like these:

How could they ever be wrong?

Oh and Adrian, don't even try to bring up your Jaffa cake heresy here. Wink

If both scenarios amount to the same thing then why would you assume I think the Bible is an accurate description of God? It's similar to the picture of bigfoot. It still doesn't capture the whole of the experience that is God. I've tested the bible and I believe I see enough reason through the dogma to find truth. Do I think the bible should be taken litterally of one line at a time without context? No, now that's crazy talk Wink

I never said it was your image of god, you asked what i thought of biblical atrocities and to that i can only respond with the biblical god. I still don't know enough about what you think god is to make any statements about how your idea relates to atrocities.

Let me ask you, how can you reconcile the suffering of innocent people in the world with your image of god?

As for the bible and literal translations, how do you decide what passages you accept as literal and what ones you write off as metaphor or forgery? Do you have a method that anyone could use and come to the same distinctions as you? And have you applied your method of testing the bible to other texts from other religions to see if they also meet the standard you used?
