Do you mean monogamous relationships though chatty? What I meant by 'open' was as in not committed/ polygamous.
I have to say my own marriage was far more than the religious ceremony - even though I was a Christian for it. I've said before here... religious services for the irreligious (that includes nominal adherants like 90% of the UK population) is hypocrisy from the people getting married AND the religious conducting the services.
To me polygamy is a recipe for sadness. If single tasking is a male attribute how the fuk do blokes manage to juggle several relationships?? But then this doesn't apply to multiple wives AKA Mormon stylie.. that's just being ruled by committee
Polygamy refers to several marriages. I bet you really mean polyamorous which refers to multiple partners without any marriage. I also don't understand how one could juggle several relationships. I was going to ask the same question to CP. Does he mean polyamorous when he says open?
I guess you would call it polyamorous in the sense that I was seeing someone but she was allowed to see others when we were not together and I was allowed to do the same. I had several long distance relationships at once and the best way I could describe it to put it bluntly is to call them fuck buddies. This was after 15 years of marriage but when that ended I just started dating again but making it clear to the people I dated that I did not want a serious relationship so most of those relationships were based entirely on companionship and sex. I hope that explains my position better.

Thanks chatty. I wonder if a polyamorous relationship is non committal and to what degree. To engage on a deeper level that friendship implies commitment. Of course there's the male disposition to fuck and run, but how do women consent to this, as it seems exploitative.

This is of course true frodo, one would need a friendship with commitment. Well of course you guys can be sweet, but you can be nasty at the same time In italics, it depends on the women, if she is up for it she'll do it, if not she won't. But if she is going to be pressured into doing this she will definately NOt do it, IMO. The other thing about this is, it can happen after a couple has been in a commited relationship, but dosent want to go out anymore, but still wants to remain friends.

All friendships require commitment that is obvious, but to be friends that mutually are not seeking serious relationships but still want to satisfy their sexual urges I don't see a problem with it at all. As long as both participants are clear on the terms of the relationship and accept it.

So you already assume the the line maker breaks the rules? I still fail to see how handing out money in a line to anyone who wants to stand in the line being an asshole. You're going to have to elaborate for me please.

The bible attributes all evil and good to god.
Deuteronomy 32:39
39.See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
Let's not forget the so called plagues that fell upon Egypt came from god and so did the destruction of Sodom and Gamorrah and the destruction of all living things in Genesis 6 the list goes on and on. The story of Job illustrates clearly that nothing happens without the lords consent whether it be for good or for evil.
Job 2:6
6.And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
God wanted to prove to Satan the fidelity of Job so he permitted Satan to bring all sorts of calamity to Jobs life on the condition that he does not kill Job. In our church we were taught never to question gods will that he knew what he was doing and we as his servants just had to trust his judgements.
I'm sorry you were raised never to question. I was raised religiously to always question. Submitting your will or life to something is really just a question of sacrifice. Would you stand in line for 20 minutes for $20? Would you Chop off you leg for 5 million? What would you expect to do for eternal life and never-ending love? You submit to the will of your bladder to go pee several times a day. You submit your will to your friend offering you beer to help move a couch. The level of sacrifice (like the level of evidence) is relative. If a burning bush showed up and told me God wanted me to cut off my right arm, I'd probably try and find a way to do it because that's an easy sacrifice for 100% proof of God's promise. As it is, there is no burning bush just some words on a page and the "voices in my head" so submitting my will to that isn't any more of a sacrifice than pouring a drink for my wife really. You don't have to stand in line for the $20 just don't come crying after. I'll get off my soap box now.
You force people to stand in line for a measly $20 when they can stay at home and you can electronically transfer millions to them. asshole. That's what I'm talking about. Why does God play charades with life?
