There I just had my one and only one time for the year 2010. I figured I would get it out of the way while it is still 2009, that way I will have a clean 2010!

RE: [split] 9/11 Conspiracy Theories
Considering that one of the most populated cities in the USA was targeted... i find the death toll to be rather minor. 2,992 noted human deaths and a little over 6,000 noted humans injured? In a city of more than 18.8 million in the metropolitan area alone? The other target was the pentagon... which the pentagon being attacked is more of a slap in the face than anything else.

To be honest... to be thrust into a war over such a pathetic attack is unreasonable. To even acknowledge such a foe isn't worth more than increasing airport security further.

I understand that people lost family on 11/09/01. But to be quite blunt... if religion inspired terrorism is only capable causing ~3000 people to die and ~6000 people to be injured... in possibly the most densely packed city in the USA: it isn't capable of much. However, (as atheists) we should all know the atrocities committed by the religious each day... and this is just one more event that would have been avoided if religion never existed.

The war isn't revenge as much as it's prevention, the same is true of increased security.

I don't know how you can call 3000 people insignificant, even if it is a small percentage of the population it is still a terrorist attack on innocent lives.

Tiny collateral damage when compared with the atrocities committed in retaliation. But then (as theists) we all know the atrocities committed by people every day.. and this is just one more event that would be avoided if people never existed.

Minor? Do you have an example of any other non-military attacks with death tolls like that?

I knew I should have looked that one up, I took stern out of context. He didn't say Rape.
"Stern's comments on April 21, 1999, a day after the Columbine High School massacre in Littleton, Colorado, drew angry criticism regarding the incident with the following comments: "There were some really good looking girls running out with their hands over their heads...Did [the suspects] try to have sex with any of the good looking girls? They didn't even do that?...At least if you are going to kill yourself and kill all the kids, why wouldn't you have some sex?...If I was going to kill some people, I'd take them out with sex.[75] Hundreds complained to KXPK, the show's Denver affiliate.[76] Stern did not issue an apology, arguing that his quotes were taken out of context.
From Wiki, so it has to be true.

It's not that I have my head up my ass, I have read and watched everything I could about the 2001 terror attacks. And no, not only conspiracy theory bullshit, but all of it. The Commission report, normal Americans perspectives. You are free to believe anything that has a wiki page must be absolutely true, but I would suggest that you guys do some research into America in the 21st century, and the foreign policy directives in the middle east. Look at the big picture, and be properly skeptical.

You can think that it all went down the way you were told, but that isn't very intelligent of you, since we are both believers in conspiracies. Mine is that a small group within the government staged a false-flag attack to further the same agenda that happened to be outlined in Cheney's PNAC (and the CFR, where I showed a while ago that Obama hand picked his administration). They planned on a 21st century of "full spectrum dominance", and this is how they are achieving it. The question is which conspiracy is more realistic, an invisible man in a cave being able to stand down NORAD, or something more sinister?

There, I am a 9/11 truther, bring on the name calling. But realize that my stance is that we are being lied to, and I have proven that, and can prove it again and again and again. So disagree, but know that it is a losing battle, as it is a fact that the investigation included clear untruths. I am not sure what happened, but I know what did not.

Gosh, I shouldn't let you guys get me going. But it's annoying that I can watch people be so foolish. It's right in front of you, and you won't look at it because of the implications it would mean for you world view.

Then again, these are the same people impressed by Dawkins work on theology, so it is a crowd that has been shown to be cowed. Not the best free thinkers we've got.

There, I didn't want to get into it again... Believe that buildings fall down after an hour and a half of kerosene fires. That what gets me, it at the base it is elementary physics (don't tell that to popular mechanics).

I should have just smiled, and not get drug into this. David Rovics said it best, "Is this the latest Lusitania, or another Reichstag fire?". Very apt.

thanks,
-Pip

Hey pippy, i've never had a real discussion about 911, you want to present your evidence?

I would rather ask you to do your own research, as it is not my job or want to try to teach you basic physics, and world affairs. But I have been studying Modern Americana my whole life, and it fits into the same model we see repeated over and over. It is just more "Problem reaction solution".

See I don't play video games and watch TV. All I do is read and ponder.

I would have to say though, that if Walmart is one of the leading forces for good, and you are waiting for the futurism to get here, you may have a lot more truth seeking that is prerequisite to 9/11.

Yes, I forget the Icke comment. Certainly there is an essence of non-humanity on this planet, but I wouldn't go as far as shape shifting 12 foot tall lizards. The ADL is funny about that, "we know that when Mr. Icke says 'Shape shifting lizards', he means 'Jewish people',". that gets me every time Tongue

But answer me this, is it human to set off nuclear weapons on you only home planet? Is it human to cause the ecological collapse? Is it human to depose humanity? That is the interesting point, trying to figure out what drives David Icke to his conclusions.

Like I said, I know the official sotry of everything, and the tin foil hat story. I take it all in, but I am not supporting it all.

LOL! I hardly think my knowledge of physics is going to be a problem, considering it's been an obsessive interest for several years.

I would research but there is so much bullshit out there like loose change that i would't know where to begin. Where do you suggest starting?

Quote:I would have to say though, that if Walmart is one of the leading forces for good, and you are waiting for the futurism to get here, you may have a lot more truth seeking that is prerequisite to 9/11.

1) i never said that Walmart is a leading force for good, never even came close to suggesting that, i'm just no where near as cynical of big business than you.

2) I think the singularity is an interesting idea, not that it is in any way certain or even anything more than mildly plausible.

ROFLOL I was thinking that exact same thing when i first saw Plan 6 from Venus - i couldn't possibly take that guy seriously.

Paranoid Schizophrenia?

Mankind has some problems that's for sure, but you only need emotion and greed to explain all of that, not an elaborate worldwide conspiracy involving the NWO, Illuminati, free masons and shape shifting lizards.

Quote:Like I said, I know the official sotry of everything, and the tin foil hat story. I take it all in, but I am not supporting it all.

I'd appreciate some of the pieces of evidence you find convincing so i can evaluate them myself.
