However, I think that the specific inputs from the inside would have to interact with the outside as well, and vice versa, because consciousness is most likely a dynamic process. Or, maybe at a more fundamental level the "inside" and the "outside" are meaningless if they metaphysically made up of the same stuff.
Maybe the inside is like the outside and the outside is like the inside ... and if so then the whole reality would contain the same stuff that make us "alive" and "conscious," and thereby reality itself would be an infinite consciousness, although maybe we are not able to perceive that because of our own physical confinements.
