I was making a point. Most verbs apply to real objects, but "believing in" only applies to ideas, thus sense and reference doesn't come into it.

If your idea of God is different, you believe in a different god.

The God character died when the last Babylonian Emperor died over 2,500 years ago. That's why no one has heard or seen God since then.
