You made me shed a tear there....... I am progressing. You have helped me to question things but I feel that debating very similar issues over and over is not getting us (or me) any where and at the end of the day this forum is for people who do not believe in God or 'gods'. I don't want to keep repeating myself as already I detect some who are 'fed-up' with my 'stance' or continued 'beliefs'. I think, starting to read the book by Stenger brought a change in me: it made me realise that no amount of 'models' (as if we can really think we can 'create' a model of God??) or applying logic, will 'decide' this issue. It's a 'spiritual' issue or rather it's what speaks to your 'heart' or your conscience.

God can be made and destroyed since it's the human brain that controls it.
But sometimes the human imagination overwhelms the brain to tricking it to think it's real.
I'm glad you are looking into reason and questioning religious claims. It's what gives you that open mindedness. Debates will repeat, it's something that will happen till one looks into the others view points and begins to see.
God has been critised over and over and it will remain that way for as long as there is a belief in it.
Spiritual is a point of view, not a point of fact.
Now if you do plan to leave, please promiss me that you'll come back sometime to say hi. I'd miss you!

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Its been great knowing you CR; and that 'spiritual' yet inquisitive mind of yours.
I hope you keep on questioning and good luck with your future.
And just as a final note about "how can a model be created of God?": Easy I think: belief in God IS a model. God IS a model.
Its how a God could exist in reality that would confuse me!
Because it of course still seems almost certain that a God or gods doesn't exist - as far as I'm concerned.
GL with our future - keep questioning.
