Not long ago one of my hillbilly cousins boiled down 5 gallons of homemade wine he wasn't very happy with. It was one of the smoothest brandies I've ever tried. I was impressed considering his still was a pressure cooker with a piece of copper tubing soldered to the lid.

Hahaha, we use modified Kenmore water purifiers. I mostly stick to making wine myself.

I've never gone crazy with the alcohol. I like various things. Mostly a nice dry white wine.
But to attempt to answer the question, I was at a Humanist meeting where we mourned the loss of Hitchens, and didso with Johnnie Walker Black. I held it in my mouth a bit too long, and my eyes got all big. Then I choked it down. Kind of embarrassing.

Homemade grappa.
It made the top of my tongue go numb in self defence.

I am not a crazy alcoholic. There are many liquors I have never tasted.
I think the two that affected me most were the Mind Eraser which did a real number on me real quick and peppermint schnapps which made me throw up immediately after downing it.

I just had a huge mint craving on the ship, hence the vodka and creme de menthe. I'll need to try peppermint schnapps. What was bad about it? Too intense, like with a mouthwash burn?
