Abortion is a matter concerning the fate of one "person". Climate change is a matter concerning the fate of humanity.

It is humanity's world and humanity's choice. If the people living today want to destroy the world....why should they care about potential future generations? Future people have no rights.

You are equivocating an actual future person and a potential future person that will never exist. This makes your entire argument ridiculous.

It leads to you being considered an idiot for floating such an absurd proposition.

I'm not too concerned with how people on an internet forum view me. Your value to me is your thoughts and ideals....your arguments and counter arguments. Your opinions, as far as I am concerned, are worthless.

If that were the case you would be replying to those and not this.

Negative Cato,

My wanting to express an opinion to you has nothing to do with me wanting to hear your opinion.

You're still not replying to the substance you claim to cherish.

Heywood, go back to page 2 and read my post. No-one is saying that the unborn don't have a right to life.

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House

“Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom

"If my good friend Doctor Gasparri speaks badly of my mother, he can expect to get punched.....You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others. There is a limit." - Pope Francis on freedom of speech

Hang on a sec, he's busy telling Cato how little his opinions matters.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

And if 100% of humanity agrees to make the choice to screw the future, maybe that's what we deserve, and maybe you have a legitimate equivalency. That's not how it is.

I know you're trying to suggest that there is a hypocrisy to the pro-choice argument, but you're going to have to find a legitimate equivalent situation if you want to succeed.

Quote:Abortion is essentially a termination of a future person.

So is every act of male masturbation. You claim to be concerned about global warming and the future of our species, but every time you run a batch you're terminating about 250 million 'future persons'.

Think about that the next time you get out your lotion and tissues to watch Kirk Cameron wax rhapsodic about crocoducks.
