I guess it boils down to how much one is convinced of the elements in the equation. If / when I could be / was more convinced by God's divinity than in my own morality then yes I'd be happy to follow him. However I think most people here have a pretty firm belief in the concept of what's moral and a pretty high threshold of evidence needed to convince them of divinity.

Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken."

If God did exist then I would negotiate directly and bypass his lame ass middle man. Jesus Christ serves no purpose. If God can't forgive me directly for things that I never did then he can go fuck hiimself. The stupid cunt shouldn't be holding me responsible for another's transgressions to begin with.
You idiots aren't smart enough to realize that if what the Bible says is true we are all in a world of shit. Why anyone would want it to be true is beyond me.
And don't now swoop in with some bullshit claiming that it's true and your belief has nothing to do with desire. God doesn't exist and your Bible is mostly myth. There are sufficient reasons for these conclusions so your insistance in believing is driven by a desire to wish that it is true. I will grant exceptins for children, those with mental disabilities, and those without access to information all of whom by the way would have to have been indoctrinated. Nobody arrives at this shit independently (hint: one reason why it's myth, none of your claims can be independently discovered).

If, hypothetically, your god turned out to be real and he was represented accurately in your Bible? Sure, if he were to present himself and leave no doubt that he was real I'd have to accept that. Would I worship him? Fuck no. I'd take hell over being next to that capricious, bloodthirsty cunt for eternity. Evidently your god isn't all that impressive up close, seeing as his best Archangel and 30% of his host decided to tell him to eat shit.

I think I would prefer to just go on nonchalantly ignoring the whole silly choice until such time as your hypothetical becomes manifest. I really can't conceive of a being as capable as you describe who would be as petty and as obsessed with us as you imagine. Cross that bridge if and when we get there.

A couple things to consider:
- God created, you nor I didn't, He created the rules, He graciously allows us to enjoy existence and His creation
- Who are we to judge Him? As smart as we think we are for any way can possible compare His vast understand vs. ours is absurd.
- Why do you blame God when He created man with a free will to chose his own fate and the results of his own decision. And don't say well if God knew ahead of time yadda yadda yadda. No one can possibly rationalize everything nor understand fully God's Will.
- If God gave you a chance to be forgiven that doesn't cost you anything other than to accept it, wouldn't it be silly to refuse such a gift. The only part of the universe to be in apart from God is the very place you blame God that He will send you to. However, you are choosing it by your pride and stubbornness.

Let's just say...
Philosophy forum...
Can't we just as easily dismiss the entire premise, given that it's a philosophical one?

IF this abrahamic deity existed as quoted in the book of myths, he would have to beg for my forgiveness.
