Try to remember that this clusterfuck started under your boy-toy, Bush the Dumber.
I know that shitheads like you two have short attention spans but really, as the OP noted "Should the West intervene," We DID intervene. We pulled the cork out of the bottle and there is no putting it back. Let's see you two shitheads pick up rifles and volunteer to help Maliki keep his throne. You're all talk. What is stupid is using Bush's performance as an excuse for Obama's.....but you do that all the time Minimalist....which is no surprise cause you're a moron who conflates everything in such a way as to conform to your whacked out world view. Bush may have made a bad situation.....But Obama's policies have now made it worse.
Bush negotiated the status of forces agreement with Maliki that Obama was stuck with, Woodie.
I know you have this great desire to re-write history but it is out there. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
Actually, the current cluster of fucks really began with the Syrian civil war and the west's idiotic failure to support a secular despot in the quixiotic fantasy about some wonderour Arab spring. Invasion of Iraq was mainly an American crime, but after 2008 things would not have gotten this out of hand without western world's collective blunders in Arab spring.
During each phase of the Arab spring, the west sympathized with and backed the wrong side. It was a colossal blunder to abandon Mubarak, it was a colossal blunder to topple Gadhaffi, it was perhaps the worst blunder to waffle and seem to come down against Assad.
The Arab world was no more ready for secular democracy than they were ready for accepting homosexuals.

You being the colossal douche bag that you are, it pains me greatly to admit this. You are right, the status of forces agreement was negotiated and signed by Bush. I do however, have an excuse. Obama did pledge to end the war in Iraq and then claimed he fulfilled that pledge. If anyone was attempting to re-write history...it was him....and I was duped by him. Quote:"Operation Iraqi Freedom is over, and the Iraqi people now have lead responsibility for the security of their country," Obama said in a televised Oval Office address on Aug. 31, 2010. "This was my pledge to the American people as a candidate for this office." http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/...q-pullout/ Now it seems, the democunts like you, after taking credit for ending the war in Iraq...are now blaming Bush for ending it prematurely. Oh, 'coz no one in Washington EVER tries to spin a shit sandwich into something that looks like ham. As has been pointed out, this outcome was not unforeseen. Only ignored by those in charge when it might have made a difference – which was before we invaded. Warning after warning after warning was issued: Warning after Warning Some of us knew this and always said the invasion of Iraq was a mistake of historic proportions. We were called traitors at the time. The U.S.-Iraq Status of Forces Agreement signed between Bush 43 and Nuri al-Malaki on June 13, 2008, REQUIRED that all US Forces would be out of Iraq by no later than December 31, 2011. So what choice, again, did President Obama have about leaving troops in Iraq past that date? He did try to negotiate leaving a force. Al-Malaki and his government refused. Status of Forces Agreement History And yes, the senseless loss of all those lives makes me sick. The only smart thing would have been to never invaded in the first place. That’s why 41 stopped short of Baghdad. Remember Colin Powell saying, “You break it, you buy it?” Well, guess what? We done bought it. |
