Should I stay with a christian

RE: Should I stay with a christian
I don't know. I could possibly get passed the religion, but I couldn't be with someone so mentally unstable that they truly believe they have visions.

RE: Should I stay with a christian
(IANMTU) I had a gay christian boyfriend many years ago, and he was pretty strict about it. As per what I later describe (and criticise) others for doing, he was a cafeteria variety christian, but even in those days my steep lack of 'devoutness' annoyed him.

To his credit (I guess) he did manage to connect with another young man, similarly religious, and they were together many years.

I appreciate the mindset that maybe it is not fair to either party to try to bridge certain gaps, however, I've also encountered gay and straight couples that boggle my mind in there divergent views, and they still manage to make the relationship work.

Not the 'visions' described in the OP for sure.

Be respectful, treat him as you normally would, loving and caring for him, and because you do, never feel bad for calling out his bullshit and redirecting him when he becomes proudly irrational.

It can work just fine, this is coming from experience. I'd have somebody check his head if I loved him though......

Whether it's a problem in your relationship only you can say. I'd have the talk about how you would raise your children sooner rather than later though.

Question: Have you talked to him about your concerns about your religious differences?

As to the overall question....

Insufficient data....

There are too many ways a relationship can go wrong or right to pin it on one variable. Only time will truly tell.

I echo the concerns about his "visions," but perhaps he just doesn't have strong reality checks. That in itself is not necessarily a deal breaker.

I'd suggest the most important variable here is your intuition. Perhaps that you're asking the question is already a signal from your subconscious....

2 Cor 6
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

Since he's reading his Bible more, he'll eventually get to the above. Might as well point it out to him now and ask him why he's engaged to you. Whole lot easier to break off an engagement than get a divorce.
