You have it backwards. Birds and theropods are saurischians, not ornithischians, despite the name. Ornithischians have a hip structure superficially similar to birds, but they are otherwise much less similar to birds than saurischians.

The protoavis theory was actually rooted in the denial of dinosaur - bird relationship, and postulated that bird actually evolved separately from another as yet undiscovered branch of archosaurs family, maybe closer to alligators, well before the development of first dinosaurs. But it has been pretty thoroughly discredited by recent discoveries, so much so that even Chatterjee, the Discoverer of protoavis and chief proponent of protoavis theory, doesn't believe in it anymore.

The bird to dinosaur theory is different, it actually suggests the very first saurischian dinosaurs, possibly even the very first dinosaur of any kind, already possessed feather and flight capability. Some descendant lineages of the first flying dinosaurs secondarily lost flight capability and became purely terrestrial dinosaurs we all know. Others kept on flying right through Mesozoic and became modern birds. So bird to dino theory supports a close relationship between birds and Dinos, differing from mainstream theory of bird evolution only in how long dinosaurs went on before evolving flight capability. Mainstream theory says quite a long time, maybe 50 million years. Bird to Dino theory says Dinos had flight capability right from the beginning, but most descendants then lost it.

So if dinosaurs evolved wings first, then all mammals are descendents of flying creatures? And flying is the ultimate evolutionary trait that allowed for widespread populations. So flying is a natural mechanism evolution wise.?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

On a more serious note, that finding is pretty awesome. I remember in fourth grade being absolutely obsessed with dinosaurs until my father told me I was checking out too many books from the library on dinosaurs at once. Haha

On a less serious note, I love chickens and I plan to eat some eggs tomorrow with cheese. Oh, I can't wait till morning.

Who isn't obsessed with Dinos when they're young? They are the coolest thing evvvveeeerrrrr!!! I reaally wanted to ride one...

Until I figured out they probably will eat me. Big Grin
