Most of us here don't believe in any gods.
There are some here that do.
They try very hard to justify their god to us.
They mean well, but mostly end up preaching.
No-one can prove god exists using empirical evidence and logic.
So then it comes down to arguing over the definitions of "evidence".
As a general rule, I tend to ignore them. From a psychological perspective, it's not them talking, it's the indoctrination. Like Joe Walsh said: You can't argue with a sick mind. Grab some popcorn cause one will be along soon.

It's important to understand the psychological symptoms that may produce god belief through perception, it's good that you are mindful of it.

As for the information require for me to believe? Well he, she, it better fall from the heavens and present its self. I think playing time is over, it's time a legitimate revelation happens, witnessed by millions of people and recorded with technological devices as evidence.

I think it's ironic how I am thinking there is perhaps no evidence that would convince me, yet so many people need no convincing at all. That Matt Dillahunty guy put it quite well- if there is a god, he should know what would convince me.

I always come back to the same thing... if believers happened to be born in another country, then most likely they would just believe 100% in the local religion instead. And I wonder, if they had been presented with no religious materials until the age of 18 say then suddenly asked what they think of this or that book, what would they say?

They would all (vast majority) say it's rubbish.
How many young ones read the bible to criticise it? none.
They read it knowing in advance that it comes from a sacred source and that it is up to them to try to understand it if they are to be good Christians.
Talk about a loaded scenario!

Then again, this is what indoctrination has always been.

In fact, imagine someone at 18 with a good understanding of science and morals reading the old testament (but wait, isn't the old testament out of date now so we can ignore it?). They would be trying to decide whether genesis is a good explanation, or trying to understand that the god doing all the worst things you could imagine is supposed to be a loving god. That would be a hard sell.
