RE: Adam Sandler vs Jack Black

I'd pick Adam Sandler over Jack Black every time, but I have a youthful affinity for stupid Adam Sandler movies (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy) and I enjoy him in the romantic comedies he's made, especially the ones with Drew Barrymore.

EeeeeeeehhhhhIIIIIII don't know about that, necessarily, particularly in the romantic comedies that I like of his (I can see this case being made for his stupid-comedy films like Billy Madison, in which case, yes, it's rather unfathomable as to why those women are attracted to such idiots). There's often a self-deprecating humor about his looks in conjunction with the female lead (all the egg head jokes in 50 first dates, for example), coupled with a charm and self-confidence that can be very attractive to women, and while I don't want to fall into a stereotype by saying looks aren't as important to women (for some women they are just as important as for men), but often what a guy lacks in physical attractiveness he can compensate for with humor, charm, and confidence.
Perhaps I'm an exception to all of these things because I think Adam Sandler is reasonably good looking, I rather enjoy the humor he brings to his romantic comedy roles, and I think the characters he plays in his romantic comedies can be pretty charming. So while it might be stretch for some to "buy" the "average guy with the super hot girl" thing that often happens in his movies, it's not so insuperable that I can't suspend disbelief, or even straight up believe that a Jennifer Aniston-type would find an Adam Sandler-type funny or charming enough that "average" looks aren't an obstacle to finding him attractive.
And, in any case, how is Adam Sandler guilty the average-guy-hot-girl trope, but not Jack Black? Has nobody seen Shallow Hal?!? Or Ben Stiller with Meet the Parents and Along Came Polly (who in real life is married to pretty-damned-hot Christine Taylor)? Or Vince Vaugn in Dodgeball? Or Jimmy Fallon in Fever Pitch? Or Seth Rogan in Knocked Up? Or Jason Segal in Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Or Kevin James in King of Queens, and Hitch? Or George Lopez in the George Lopez Show?
Is it unfathomable that women deemed, by men, to be "hot" would find men deemed "average"
by other men attractive? In the same way men deemed, by women, to be "hot" would find women deemed "average"
by other women attractive? We women are just as attracted to so-called "average" men as men are to so-called "average" women.
