For example, there's a possibility that tomb raider is why I'm interested in archeology, geography, mythology and linguistics(but maybe I got it backward)

Other way around. My interests influence what kind of video games I enjoy.

Hmm I only ever played Mario and Duck Hunt. Never had much of an interest in plumbing, mushrooms, or hunting. I guess it didn't work on me.

After a few years of playing Everquest and World of Warcraft, I have a pretty strong urge to backstab every gnome I encounter, and looting his still-twitching corpse.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I think it's a feedback loop of things that I'm interested in and video games I like influencing each other. I bought BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite because I'm interested in science fiction and those games grew my interest in science fiction. Even in my earliest days of gaming, my parents got me Rise of Nations, Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, and Call of Duty 2 for Christmas the years they came out because I was interested in historical media and those games reinforced that.

'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

I want to get those kind of games? But I don't have a good PC, just a PS3 from France (we only got it last February)
And we just finished the last of us, oh boy.

Got Medieval Total War as a gift ages ago and loved it, which is what got me interested in history. Also playing strategy games (mainly paradox ones) is the main reason I know where things are.

Consoles don't do real time strategy games like those very well because thumbsticks have nowhere near the accuracy of a mouse.
