I saw this (non religious) video on Facebook and it made me angry

Yes, there are more arrests made of black people, but it's only because more black people are stopped. (At least of contraband searches)
White people actually have a higher rate of being being found with contraband but they have a lower rate of arrests. Which makes sense considering that only 47 white people were stopped compared to the over 500 black people who were stopped.

did you look at the reasons they were stopped?
They were all legit reasons.
this is how we know this:

Did you see the 'no action taken' column? both white and black have a 1 to 2% 'no action taken.' That is police speak for we pulled over an innocent person, and cut them loose, because we wrongly suspected criminal activity.

Now if Innocent Black people were being targeted then this stat would be higher than whites or anyone else. as it is a 1% margin of error is not a bad track record.

Again not saying black people are not being targeted at all, but at the same time if these 'targets' result in actual instances where the law was broken, then why wouldn't we expect to see more black arrests?

The thing most people seem to be afraid to ask, are black people actually commiting more crime?

IF they are then what? are Law enforcement offers just to turn a blind eye? if so which crimes? and why?

Honestly I don't think it is a race thing at all. Looking at race is an archaic way of trying to classify and compile stats. social/ecconomic factors are the driving force behind crime, not a skin color.

In my fergason thread someone posted a stat that said in the state of Mo, black people were less then 20% of the total population, but were convicted of 60% of the crime. In that light, why wouldn't black people be stopped more?

You have cause and effect reversed. Black Americans have higher instances of incarceration precisely because of racial profiling. To then claim that the profiling is justified because of higher incarceration rates is absurd.

Incarceration has absolutly NOTHING to do with profiling. Harrassment or arrest is the direct result of profiling. Only conviction through Trial by jury or a guilty plea can effect the number of incarcerations.

If there are more of one group of people in prision, then like it or not more of that group has pleaded guilty or have been found guilt by a jury of their peers based on the avaiable evidence.

I for one am glad 'those people' (someone wake up stimbo and tell him to read this post, im sure he will agree ) are in Prision. If they weren't and the Criminals were allowed to run free then we would be living in the net result of a Zombie apocalypse, without the Zombies. In that humanity is preying on humanity, and soceity would collaps in on itself.

You are unbelievably stupid if you can type the above sentences and not understand the impact of profiling on disparate incarceration rates. I've been a member here long enough to know engaging you with facts is futile, but my eternal optimism made me hopeful that something as straightforward as this would at a minimum demonstrate your ability to reason at a basic level. What is your understanding of satire? Getting caught misrepresenting something and then having the option of saying 'just kidding?' These guys who have 4million plus hits on YouTube have a responsibility of labeling their work if it is meant to be taken as fiction or a prank. They have no other issue labeling other videos they do as pranks when that applies.

If for no other reason to stop others from picking this stuff up and taking it as an accurate representation of the condition of a given situation. Just like the faud-casters did.

I saw their Youtube page. Looks like all of their videos are pranks and jokes. I didn't see the Facebook page you are talking about. Was somebody trying to pass this off as a study or documentary on race in America or something?
Take the Chris Rock video posted earlier as an example. If you did not know Mr. Rock was a comedian and there was no studio audience laughing, would you assume it was an accurate representation? I didn't see any labels or warnings about it being a joke. Telling you ahead of time defeats the purpose.
I thought it was funny and I think most reasonable people understand it is meant to be a joke, not documentary footage from 60 Minutes.

Profiling leads to arrests.. To be arrested does not automatically lead to incarceration. Only a trial by jury or a guilty plea leads to imprisionment. therefore encarceration is not a direct result of profiling.

Look at their youtube channel. every single joke or prank is titled and labled as such. This video stands out from the paradigm. there is no set up no punch line it is presented as being factual. Not to mention the other video I posted clearly shows people are not looking at this as satire.
