Anyway, welcome :-)

"The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions" - Leonardo da Vinci

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

There's lots of things an omnipotent and omniscient omnibenevolent God can't do, if you think about it: Be wrong. Make mistakes, Grow. Learn. Fail, Be surprised. Have regrets. Note that the biblical God is described having the latter reaction.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

If your parents hid the truth from you, that wasn't guiding you in the best way to make an informed choice. Taking away a choice does not equal presenting the choice to you. Most people never get to understand what the choice is, you included it seems.
If you think God exists in the same way that you exist, then you are deluded. You are sorely lacking in knowledge of the subject.
I wish you well. Welcome.

Oh, and if you looked for god and didn't find him, you were doing it wrong...or something. \sarcasm

Luke: You don't believe in the Force, do you?

Han Solo: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.
