Sure. They have haggis too.

An independent Scotland will never need nukes as long as they have haggis.

We Irish invented the bagpipes 1000 years ago, sent them to Scotland, and the Scots STILL haven't gotten the joke.

They have oil (for how long?) and not much else....?

I hope the long term isn't us sending billions of pounds of "aid" to Scotland like we do to India, when India has it's on space program !

If they want to be independent, let them be independent.

Lets weight it up

Gordon Brown and Tony Blair are both Scottish (and arguably better than the current choice of posh bastard, hypocrite, hypocrite #2 and the guy who poses for photos in floods) , and Sean Connery is the best Bond hands down. Also, regarding cuisine; haggis is among the best foods in the world (no subjectivity there at all Wink ), Lorne sausage is the best thing for a fry up, Aberdeen Angus is one of the best beefs and the seafood is incredible. On top of that, Scotland looks much nicer Tongue

Great.

Next thing you know we'll all be terrified of the haggis arms race and the haggis apocalypse.

Fair play but I'm not conceding on Daniel Craig.

But seriously, owning up to both Broon and Bleugh! I am in awe of your courage.

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

Because they were immigrants and got categorised and stereotyped. Because the British influence still exists in Ireland and the Irish were as good as at war with the British until relatively recently. I think the hatred is a thing of the past now.

If by this you mean "Today is the day I have been informed of Scotland's existence", then I have to ask, do you live under a rock? or are you high? or both?
