I'm just back from visiting Victoria. I always find Canadians more friendly than people in the U.S. Victorians seem to be trying to out English the English (it's like visiting a 1950 English novel) but I don't find that true of the rest of Canada.
Food, wine, and beer choices in Canada are never as good as their counterparts just across the boarder. If you want to drink micro brew and eat well stay in Seattle. Not that food in Victoria was bad, it's just that it was no where near as good. Haven't done it recently, but the Vancouver Seattle comparison was similar.
Somehow though Canadians produce way more than their fair share of actors, novelists and musicians. Maybe it has something to do with long cold winters or that better educational system?
Canadians know what's happening politically and socially in the U.S. Here we haven't a clue what's going on in Canada.

I've expressed the theory before that our Separation of Church and State created the most virulent, aggressive strain of the Christian mind-virus. Without state funding, only the strains that could appeal and dupe the masses could survive. Hence our current plague.
Would that we could have kept the wisdom of the British, keeping their doddering old traditional religion fat and protected with the public dole. If our friends from across the pond feel any resentment at having some of their tax dollars used to sustain this outdated farce, just think of it as the maintenance fees for the gilded cage that keeps the muzzled beast from wrecking the havoc that it has over here.

Seizing is probably going too far, but taxing them is a great idea.
It isn't unfair or discriminatory if they are ALL taxed.

I was thinking more along the lines of medical marijuana dispensaries.
