Thanks again, all, ofr the gracious welcome. Smile

Yes Smile He's one of those characters that is truly 'alive' Smile

Doyle's vivid biography of Holme's life is a wonderful read through any of his noted cases Smile

I haven't watched the new movie yet, but i intend to someday Smile

It's interesting that the techniques described in the Holmes stories are now

an integral part of police forensics.

P.s welcome to the dark side Watson

^Well his methods were sincerely far ahead of his time, so it stands to reason they would be implemented nowadays, and with greater technology required to do them for us haha!

Saerules, I'll have to check out Doyle's biography on him, it must be outrageously awesome! What is so fascinating, to me, about Holmes is that despite all of his callous behavior, his rudeness, even his own opinion on the field of detective work, he was one of the most compassionate men in all of fiction. That is to say, to him it was second nature to care so deeply for all of mankind that he would undertake, even at great pains to his own mental health, the task which he did.

It'swhat makes him so intriguing. Smile

Lol silly Tongue I said that in reference to how well the author portrayed Holmes as a real character Smile

He was also often on heroin, if my memory serves Smile

LOL oops! Don't I look goofy? haha

Holmes did do cocaine, not sure about heroin though. I haven't read all of the books. xP Holmes basically used cocaine as an outlet for hyper-charging his brain when he didn't have a case or problem to put his mind to.
