No one is questioning the fact that many of the founding fathers were Christian.

But they (even the Christians) went out of their way to create a secular government.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Yes, but without the colonisation the USA as it is today couldn't exist. And that's my point, the country was originally founded by the British. It was changed to a secular government later, but it wasn't founded as one.

The country was not founded by the British, colonies were founded by the British. It wasn't a country until the British government was kicked out and the new (secular) government of the United States of America was created.

The country was founded with a secular government. There is no country until the Constitution is adopted.

You are very confused as to what constitutes a country.

Actually, the "country" was founded as what appears to have been genuinely animist. It was much, much later violently turned into nominally christian, then somewhat later still again violently turned into nominally secular.
