The Newly Departed thread: announcements (departures)
RE: The Newly Departed thread: announcements (departures)
Vorenus was dead.  Cicero was dead.  Antony was dead.  Brutus was dead.  Cassius was dead.  Pompey was dead.  Caesar was dead.  Octavian ruled for 42 years.  There wasn't much of anywhere else to go.

For an idea of what it could have been there is always "I, Claudius."

But if they hadn’t decided to give it the chop after one series, they wouldn’t have snuffed everyone. Could have carried on for yonks.

I suppose they felt constrained by historical events?

Amirite?

I’ll check with my chief leech-wrangler and get back to you.

Bit of trivia: if you get a leech on you, what should you do?

Run about, scream and shout! I always thought salt was the remedy.

Yup.

Worked a treat in my downstairs room when I kept finding slime trails.

Dead slugs all around.

Or First Century BC.

A little graphic but it gives the idea.

Fantastic.

I'm going to Rome in February with my kid and I'll be sure to look for a tour with a live educational re-enactment of the "surgery" scene. Panic

We went on an after-dark tour of a local Gold-Rush history museum just before Halloween and we were treated to the tools and methods of 19th century "medical" treatment, which weren't much more advanced than the video above.
