But yeah, there's been plenty of times when someone said something to another person, they did not get it, and I responded to try to clear up the confussion.

Do you end up telling the person that they are wrong and not so smart all the while just trying to clear up confusion?

Maybe you should read post 557 again.

Lol, he didn't say you were not so smart, neither did he even use the word wrong. He said you had it backwards because he thought that's where my confusion was coming from.

But honestly this is a silly thing to argue over. So, for everyone's sake.... You're right. You never ever provoke Ham, ever. Rolleyes

The only response that I have is that you've lost the ability to read/comprehend.

And you're right, you always correct him.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

No, he definitely called him not smart, CL. Hang on and I'll capture it for you.

Bold mine. It definitely happened, yo.

Right, he said that *after* he was provoked. But before that, he did nothing to warrant MH's sarcastic response of "thanks ham, you're so smart"

To be fair, that's the sort of playful sarcasm that people can expect anywhere. Yes, definitely sarcastic, but definitely just typical banter. Provocation has another connotation, as Jor mentioned. That said, I don't even think Hammy's response is that bad. It's all sort of another day in the neighborhood. *shrugs*

So what I'm reading is that CL feels that H is allowed to dish it out and he deserves to be treated special when it's dished back at him (and even when it isn't). So again - give him a free pass because he's so special. Nope. Sorry. He was in the wrong in that thread just like he's been in others. The fact that CL refuses to see it, only proves mh's point.

No, that is not how I feel at all.

I don't necessarily think that's what's happening here. I think CL sees sort of everyday jabs as instigating. In a very polite setting with much stricter standards for interaction, it would be. She has higher standards than we do. Tongue As long as we can all agree the kid's reactions are next-level histrionics, I think we're all living in reality.

For the record, this is instigating:

Hi, Hammy. Enjoying the thread?

That's a bald faced lie.

Everyone loves to claim their words were taken out of context when they come back to haunt them, but no one can ever explain in what way they were taken out of context...
