A cure for diabetes?

Scientists Coax Human Embryonic Stem Cells Into Making Insulin
Quote:A team of Harvard scientists said Thursday that they had finally found a way to turn human embryonic stem cells into cells that produce insulin. The long-sought advance could eventually lead to new ways to help millions of people with diabetes.
More at the link. How long before some nutcase religious leader condemns this because it "kills babies" or something equally idiotic?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Nah.
It's humans doing what gods are apparently incapable of doing.

Belief has held back stem cell research before, particularly under Bush
