A cure for HIV?

A man underwent treatment for Leukemia and as part of the last stage of his treatment was given a course of stem cells with a unique genetic mutation that makes the stem cells immune to the HIV virus. He was not known to have AIDS but the HIV virus was detectable and had been confirmed periodically over 10 years.

Does that count as a cure or a suppresant? Can he infect others with HIV virus?

That remains to be seen, I assume he cannot transmit the disease seeing as they couldn't detect it, that likely implies that it was destroyed rather than suppressed.

This is a single case report for now, hopefully it will catch the attention of some serious research orgs.
