I felt like I needed a shower after watching more than 20 seconds.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

The video described them as "first graders", not adolescents. It wasn't child porn but it was certainly suggestive enough to put a number of people ill at ease.

Should be made clear that the guy didn't post actual pedophilic content, as in abuse porn or anything like that. Just feel like it should be noted that if that were the case, the police would be consulted. I also personally don't feel like it should be ambiguous since he's not here to defend himself. It was a creepy video, but I honestly can't even tell what's happening in it nor is there any nudity. It was also a cartoon. I have no idea if purp is any kind of pedo, but I don't think we should assume that or say that he is, per the same rule that was used to temp-ban him.
Can anyone honestly say they can tell what was happening in the video? Seriously, it had creeptastic vibes, but it's anime. That shit's hard to understand.

To me, the clear issue was that he brought it up to a group of internet strangers and remarked about how cute it was.
That sends my spidey sense into a tizzy.

Personally, I thought the sexual overtones were pretty obvious. Not saying Purple thought the same when he posted it, though.

Particularly since that was the entire purpose of the thread.
If anyone is unsure whether material they want to post is unsuitable, or would otherwise be against the rules for some other reason, run it past one of us first.

To be honest, I just googled that show and that particularly episode. Other threads about it online is certainly not the type of content AF is for. There are heaps of men calling it adorable and referring to the girls as "lolis" and some other Japanese word for pretty child girl. Whether purp meant it that way or not, it's not something I would want to be associated with. I'm only stopping short of assuming his intention. Now that I somewhat understand what was happening in the video, I'm sure it's creepy for normies, not creepy to regular anime fans.

Exactly this. I hope nobody has the idea that I was suggesting otherwise. I could and should have been clearer.

My understanding is that "loli" comes from Lolita, as in the novel.

I dont think its anything to do with pedophilia, from what it sounds like. Japanese culture is into cutesy stuff like that.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
