Yep. This is exactly why it was a temp ban. If we thought he was trying to start a conversation about pedophilia or share his interest in any way we would have had zero tolerance.
The content of the video was enough that we felt we needed to take action and make it clear that it was over the line. I don't make any guesses as to purple's... purpose? (sorry) in posting the video.

What "it" was specifically, was Lolicon anime. And there are many, many people who would strongly disagree with your guess of the genre not having anything to do with pedophilia.
Including the concerned parents and citizens groups of Japan actively campaigning for more stringent regulations of it.

For the record, my posts in response to purplepurpose in the deleted thread clearly gave him the benefit of the doubt as to assuming his interests/intent. I simply told him that the vid was creepy and suggested that he vet material more thoroughly before posting it and deeming it "cute".
My opinion on the subject of Lolicon manga/anime in and of itself, however: While it's not child pornography in that it doesn't contain explicit sexual content and is comprised of drawn images, the genre is clearly an expression of pedophilic fascination/interest in it's blatant Lolita theme and in-your-face sexual overtones. Fans maintain that it's simply an appreciation for the aesthetic of "little girl cuteness."
Folks can make what they will of that.

What’s done is done. I expect that when/if purple returns there may be some explanation however we Are duty bound to act on what we see and we had to act immediately following discussion and consensus amongst the staff. Honestly, however one takes the content, we don’t want that kind of stuff on AF
