Sorry, didn't mean to ignore your question Bella.  Just didn't notice it.

I wasn't banned under the current rules as administered by the current moderation team.  In broad strokes, the forum had a bad day, I defended someone from a mod I thought was behaving badly, became paranoid I'd be banned for calling for that mod to step down, wrote some shit in my bio and a member of the team took exceptation to my describing this place as a lunatic asylum run by the inmates.  My perma-ban was lifted when I asked to rejoin and was allowed to without making apologies or receiving any.  

Shit happens.  People aren't perfect.  Mods are people too.

Other than the part about it being the current mod team, I agree. The mod team has completely rolled over since then. Before I retired, I was the longest tenured staff person other than Tiberius and Moros (neither of whom regularly participated in moderation duties), and that was (slightly) before my time. It was in April 2012, if I recall correctly. I joined the mod team in May of 2012.

ETA: I think I may have misread what you intended. By "current mod team", you meant the mod team in place at the time I think.

Oh no, I wasn't saying it had anything to do with current moderation or yourself. Sorry if I gave that impression. Given the way the team works now I can't imagine anything like that ever happening again. That's a good sign if an institution can learn from the past and improve.

Even for those involved back then I think the human factor covers it all. I don't hold any animosity toward any of them and I appreciate everyone who has ever volunteered to help moderate this place.

Hey this is going to be a pretty tight group. With Summer, Cthuulluuh, bennyboy the penguin and I. I propose we seek out a special site for a fortress. We could invite in some of the cooler members and mods. Spit and cuss, stuff like that.
