lol
Is it just me or did practically nothing even happen?
No wonder you lot thought I was trolling if you think
that was flaming lol.
I saw the warning on the thread and searched the whole thread looking for what the fuck people were even being warned for.
This place is getting silly. Maybe AF should get renamed to Safe Space City.
Since when was everyone so ludicrously hypersensitive?!

Like... the actual rulebreaking? I still haven't seen anything lol.

Our argument was making the thread a toothache to read for everyone else, and though I'd already decided to leave t be, I have to own the consequences of my actions. I amongst others was flinging insults and making posts that at times did nothing to advance the conversation. I certainly wasn't alone in that, but "she did it too" is no excuse.
I'm not smoking anything so what the hell is everyone ELSE smoking?! Lol.
I've seen you get pissed off with the Staff when they were perfectly justified and now when a gigantic big deal is made out of absolutely nothing you think it's equitable and fair? Lol.
Shit, if people can get banned from a thread for a couple of insults then I couldn't be more right about this turning into a Safe Space.
The Staff may as well make a No Insult Rule if they want to control their members this much. This is just getting silly.

Lol so much this.
Yeah, like where the fuck are the posts that actually warranted a thread ban or is the handful of vague and petty shit really what this huge deal is being made out of?
Censoring people when they're not even breaking any AF rules is just getting silly.
I thought the prime directive was a good idea because it sounded awesome but I didn't realize it was going to be interpreted in such a way that next to nothing can get censored just because people say something unsavory. I thought thread bans were going to be used when people were actually out of line.
LP talking of a 2 week vacation.... WTF like next to nothing even happened lol.

You created what method...?
Are you the reason this place is going downhill? Lol.
Unbelievable.

Just search the internet for the same troll-y topic started in the thread in question and you find much the same discussions. Nothing new to see here. As I posted in the thread, it would be a shame if the troll-y topic polluted AF. I wonder if that's already happened.

Don’t worry. It wasn’t because of the topic. It was the inability of the parties involved to get along that was the problem.
I misread that as "panties".
Which would be more appropriate, IMO, as panties sure are getting twisted over next to nothing.
Like... the biggest deal is the fact this is being made into some huge deal. Enforcing thread bans on people when they barely do anything lol.

Seriously... what are people EVEN READING?! I still can't see anything worse than things like "dickhead" or "alt right supporter" said a couple of times (and the whole point is a couple of times doesn't count!) Stuff like that that dies down before it constitutes flaming still warrants a thread ban? Lol.
If sensitive topics are going to be shut down and threads like the 3000th clone of the generic "God doesn't exist" topic are going to remain that's super fucking boring and lame.
I thought AF was always anti-censorship and that's one of the primary reasons I always loved this place.

Exactly. This kind of thing is normal... there's a big difference between a couple of insults during a heated discussion and actually having a flame war.
This is a huge, huge slippery slope.
The only solution to this rule besides scrapping it is to stop enforcing it so goddamn ridiculously. There's nothing wrong with the prime directive in itself, in fact on paper it sounds great. AF should be about discussion. If a thread goes completely off the rails then thread bannings do make a lot of sense. But to do it before that's even happened when things have just got slightly heated is going to make this place impossible to frequent. People aren't being babysat because they're acting like children people are being treated like they're not even supposed to even have any goddamn emotions.
It wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't made into one.
AF is getting insanely strict. I can't believe this shit it's pathetic.
