I agree.

Where are the muslim leaders who preach peace? Is it that they are not highlighted by the media ,not popular enough in their community or that they are non existent ? Probably they are scared of the fanatical muslims.

and most importantly

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wahhabi

Quoting from the second link :

Quote:The alliance between followers of ibn Abd al-Wahhab and Muhammad bin Saud's successors (the House of Saud) proved to be a rather durable alliance. The house of ibn Saud continued to maintain its politico-religious alliance with the Wahhabi sect through the waxing and waning of its own political fortunes over the next 150 years, through to its eventual proclamation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932, and then afterwards, on into modern times. Today Mohammed bin Abd Al-Wahhab's teachings are state-sponsored and are the dominant form of Islam[2][20] in 21st century Saudi Arabia.

and of course :

http://www.al-islam.org/uprising-ashura-...mbent-upon

Quoting :

Quote:The Muslims can only go so far as to advise and warn him about the negative consequences of his actions. It is of course not binding upon the people to obey him when he invites them to participate in his sinful actions, but they cannot dismiss him from office. There are a number of narrations which assert that it is incumbent to obey an imam and caliph, even though he might be an oppressor or even if he forcibly usurps and seizes people’s property. Because the Prophet (S) has said, ‘Listen to and obey your ruler, even if he is a slave with a flat nose or an Ethiopian. Also, pray behind every person, virtuous or perverted.’ He also said, ‘Follow and obey your rulers, even if they loot your property and break your backs’.”3

You know the preacher teachers Ayan Hirsi spoke of? Those are Wahhabis.

They are extremely annoying, even more than your typical Arab

The main difference is that the clerics used the Tudeh Party to mobilize the people, and then when the revolution succeeded, they turned on the Tudehs because they were no longer needed. Kind of like what the Bolsheviks did to Kerensky and the Kadets in revolutionary Russia.

The Iranians I've known were friendly, tolerant of us Christians in their country, and against the Shah much more than for the mullahs. That doesn't really fit the American propaganda screed, I know.

All I know is they made a big fuss over the fuckhead when he came back.

So what? Americans make a big fuss over the Rose Queen every New Year's Day in Pasadena. If you knew the history of that Revolution, you'd understand that they weren't cheering radical Islam, but the architect of their revolutionary victory.

Here's another view, this from 2009, and speaks at least as well about the popular opinion of the government there:

As I said in the last line of the post you quoted, I understand that my view doesn't really fit the American propaganda screed. You're free to dismiss my opinion as you see fit, of course. You're also free to question your premises.

Lets look at GOD as Rightful Action,Positive thinking, Living the moment, Compassion, Love, Nature, Family, Friends and all life around us. Such a GOD is not supernatural, but is as real as the feeling of being alive.

The Nazis weren't all Christian, for instance the SS had a Muslim division.

Which just goes to show that Muslims and Christians can get along when they work together to achieve a common goal.

How inspiring. Dodgy
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

I can't tell you how often I've seen Christian and Muslim apologists forget their differences once the big bad atheist walks into room (or proverbial room if it's an internet forum).
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:
"The trinity can be equated to having your cake and eating it too."
...      -Lucent, trying to defend the Trinity concept
"(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question"
...       -Statler Waldorf, Christian apologist
