question about timestamps and reps

RE: question about timestamps and reps
I'm not saying that the reps you give reset. I'm saying that the amount of reps you can submit in a 24hr period does reset. I proved it tonight. I couldn't, now I can.

No it did reset. I was able to post Sae's rep as soon as the 24hour period had expired. I'll wager I could post 4 more reps too but not 5, not today at least. The server time would only be remotely applicabe if the coding for the reset is based off it. It could be based off local time though, I'm not sure henche the question.

RE: question about timestamps and reps
You can post as many reps as you like, but only 1 for each member. For example, you can't give Saerules another one can you?

RE: question about timestamps and reps
You can post as many as you like as a whole. However in a 24hour period you can only post so many, and I got this error :

"Error You have already given as many reputation ratings as you are allowed to for today. "

Once this time threshhold was passed I could then post sae's. I'm postulating that the number is 5, but I was looking for definitive answers. I also wanted to know how it was coded and to what time it referenced. I'm going to bed though now, have a nice night.

RE: question about timestamps and reps
I've changed it so you can give 20 reps in a 24 hour period. There is no "resetting". The forum looks at how many reps you've made in the last 24 hours (i.e. TIME_NOW - (24 * 60 * 60)) and determines whether you've reached your limit.

For instance, assume that at 0:00 on day 1, you made a rep. Then at 10:00 you made a further 19. You wouldn't be able to make another rep until 0:00 on day 2, and then again until 10:00 on day 2.

Hope that helps...

Also, the "system time" is displayed at the top in the welcome box, next to the label "Current Time".
