The solar system for example loses radiation energy, and after the sun has gone red giant and killed everything, the orbits of the remaining planets will, in the long run, lose radiation energy, spiral inwards and get eaten. Why on earth do you think there is someone keeping balance?
It is all part of learning how to survive and by learning how to survive you also expand your consciousness which is part and parcel of the game.
If this planet go to the dogs human being will have to go to live in a different planets where life is permissible.
This will happen for sure in the future and the new technologies will be ready.
And if the whole universe will go under then the human race will be ready to transfer in new dimensions.
Once you understand that all these games happen in the mind of the supreme controller than you also come to the conclusion that the space to locate new mind projections is infinite and therefore nothing is really lost.

This will happen in about 4.5 billion years. I haven't got my knickers in a twist over that, since mankind is around for some pathetic 2 million years, if that. Chances are, the planet will have shrugged us off long before it becomes inhabitable.
And at the rate we're working at the destruction of our environment, mother earth will have enough of us much sooner if we're not committing mass suicide by weaponry.
No species has every survived for billions of years. We're not that special. Far from it.

In theory Buddhism is all royal cream but how many people take it seriously?
Just go in any Asian temples and see what Buddhist do.
They chant few old mantras while holding in their hands sticks in incense.
Will they be able to remove themselves from wants?
You got to be joking mate.

Again, i am talking about something that goes over the tales. Agreed. However, some people don't grow out of their fairy tails, e.g. reptilian overlords, Elvis Presley is alive, hollow earth, etc... Religion is on that list. There is no evidence for these beliefs, and, for some, there is counter evidence. NDE's are not evidence for an afterlife, nor is your wishful desire for "balance" evidence for past lives.

Does burning themselves alive count as taking it seriously? Or the many restrictions they willingly place on themselves?

You seem to be very ignorant of Buddhism.
Quote:The Buddha taught that life is imperfect and that we will suffer. He taught that we suffer because of desire, anger and stupidity, and he showed that we could end our suffering by letting go of desires and overcoming anger and stupidity. The complete letting go of these negative influences is called Nirvana, meaning "to extinguish", like putting out the flame of a candle.

Reptilians with fairy tails? I barely dare ask what unspeakable union led to that chimeira!

I'm using "fairy tales" very loosely to drive the point across.

And your so called evidence is based on.......?

Try to analyse with more care next time you read my post.
I didn't say that all Buddhists don't take it seriously.
I said.............. In theory Buddhism is all royal cream but how many people take it seriously?.......
Does this means that ALL Buddhist don't take it seriously?

Again i was referring to the majority not to all of them.

One thing that i do not agree is to say that ........ The complete letting go of these negative influences is called Nirvana......
To me it would be correct to say......The complete letting go of these negative influences LEAD to Nirvana.

That is interesting Ab.
So you are telling me that you have been all over the universe and all over the inhabited planets and have interview all these people in order to come to such a conclusion.
Gee, that is great man.
Please tell me in details.

Very nice wishful thinking you got going there!

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you were not commiting an appeal to population/popularity falacy. I was wrong.
How popular or how seriously a majority of people take someone has nothing to do with the validity of the religion.

Again, appeal to popularity falacy. It doesn't matter how many christians take their religion seriously for it to still be considered a religion. Why should it matter for the buddhist?

You can have that argument with a buddhist if you want. I don't believe in either.
