It always does pose challenges to the believer; not so much to the atheist.

In any case, welcome OP! Beware of the beasts lurking within though.

Not me.......I am a puddy tat. I never pull my fangs out. *COUGH*

But to address our theist OP.

My advice to any theist coming here or to any atheist website is really simple. Treat all of us as individuals. Some here are more library types and others like me don't mind a verbal fray. Do not take attacks on claims as personal attacks. What atheists are concerned about is not your human rights. What we are concerned with is when any statement you type and submit, does that statement contain credible facts we can address. We can and often do go after each other as atheists as well.

We are not interested in sparking up ovens, or having theists arrested. We will not barbecue your kittens or give you cooties. If you make a claim we are not convinced by, it merely means we are not convinced.

Other than that. MUEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, welcome to the lion's den.

Hi again. UK here. Please help yourself to a cup of tea and a biscuit or two.

Good to read about your humanitarian efforts. I think we can all agree that such work is admirable, irrespective of religious beliefs. I'd go a step further and suggest that humanitarianism is a common ground that brings people of all faiths or none together. Hope you get a chance to respond to my post on the other thread.

Welcome to the forum, Fortruth.

Happy to hear about your humanitarian work. My family have been involved with Oxfam for decades.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
