Become the fun uncle. If you sister hasn't cut you off, play with your niece and nephews, send them funny cards for no reason, go out of your way to do fun things with them. When they get older, they will have a positive image of you and are more likely to ask you questions because you are some one who built up a relationship with them from the time they were small.
