You can't. Until you understand that I reject your superstitions unless and until you provide evidence (and not self-serving shit written by other "believers") that your god exists you have no argument. You have only belief which is worthless.

I can prove that Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'hara are "real" if the only book I allow to be used is Gone With The Wind. That's the trick you try to pull with your god.

Your god is no more real than Zeus. Although at least Zeus was not depicted as such a bloody murderous bastard.

Anyone with a heart in the right place can judge this for himself. Is this the moral we want to adopt? There really is no room for metaphorical dodging here, this is clearly abject moral. It fills me with a feeling of nausea.

Hey you forgot Judges 11: 29-40 where knowing the future, god accepts terms in wich the outcome would be child sacrifice and did not intervene.
Did I make a good point? thumbs up Smile I cant help it I'm a Kudos whore. P.S. Jesus is a MYTH.

Just so,and he had a wonderful ironic wit ,which is a lot more than you can say for old sourpuss YHWH.---Wasn't it Zeus who thought up those all those creative punishments? Eg the The thing with Sisyphus, and the schtick with Prometheus and that eagle and of course turning that self obsessed git Narcissis into a flower---AND let's not forget the spiffy joke he played on Leda----

He makes shit up???

But we already knew that.

To have some morally acceptable moral you certainly have to rip out all OT-pages.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but oh well, I wanted to post it somewhere.

It is certainly a good book for borderline Christians. However a feel good book is really not convincing for atheists. Christians tend to have these "flavor of the month" type books and ideas. Remember Jesus Christ Superstar? How about "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series? Remember when ever TV minister spoke in tongues? How about when God told Pat Robertson to run for President?

haha, A friend of mine introduced me to it, and he is far from 'borderline Christian.' He's extremely strong in his faith and I've not once seen him falter in that. That aside, it isn't just a 'feel good' Christian book, if that's what you got frm it when you read it then you did not absorb what was written and did not understand it.

For all those who wish to know, the book that I read was the one where Joshua enters a small town and eventually gets called to the Vatican, because his words are so 'controversial.'

The whole point was to outlaw Jesus and God's message and intention for what churches should be like, compared to what they are nowadays.

Oh, and Minimalist? "belief is useless"? No wonder you'rs so pissed off all the time. Big Grin

EDIT: Also, Welsh Cake, you are in no position to tell me what I can and cannot speculate on. That's like me telling you "You're an atheist so you can't ever speculate or talk about whether Jesus existed or not. Otherwise that means you're not atheist."

Au contraire. Xtians could learn a lot from brevity. Far too many of them think that slopping a lot of holy-sounding words makes their crap more convincing.

It doesn't.
