I think he's still on his sabbatical. Have you checked his FB page? His staff is posting old stuff from the 90ies. That's when I became a fan of his, when he was still on Premiere.

Also I hope he's coming again with his "Nicht Gedanken", reading from "promi" autobiographies. Personally I think, his rendition of these are even better than the Mattscheibe. They are all up on his home page. You should check them out.
